1. My DiREX-Pro uses xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address.
Why can’t I find the DVR under this address?

The IP address of your PC is not correctly configured. It must belong to the same subnet as your DiREX-Pro. When using a proxy server, during proxy configuration it is necessary to enter the DiREX-Pro’s IP address under "exceptions". Consequently, the proxy server will be disabled by access to your DVR.

2. Is it possible to work with DiREX-Pro using browsers such as Opera, Mozilla etc.?

DiREX-Pro only works correctly with MS Internet Explorer (5.5 and above).
Additionally it is possible to use Opera or Mozilla based (PDA's also, e.g. Nokia 770 Internet Tablet) browsers for utilize embedded JPEG-Push service (approx. 1 fps). It is accessible directly of via special CGI-BIN commands. An online example (not IE compatible) is available via our LIVECAM web page:

3. I'm able to connect to DiREX-Pro with MS Internet Explorer but there is no video / audio display.
What is wrong?

You need to install the AV-Plugin located on supplied CD and our web site.

4. Are your NDVRs suitable for using via mobile connection like 3G/EV-DO?

Yes, the concept of the DiREX-Pro series is perfect suitable for remote access via mobile networks:

  • the frame rate adjusts itself to the available bandwidth - with consistent video quality;
  • local recording is always at full speed and so video data can be completely restored;
  • automatic email notifications with picture attachment are possible by any bandwidth.
More information is available at our web page:
Products > DiREX-Pro > Mobile/VPN

5. The video picture is too bright and sometimes disappears completely. What is wrong?

There are two possible reasons:

  • idle video inputs are not deactivated;
  • the cameras in use provide different video levels (e.g. because of different cable lengths), please check (and, if needed adjust) the level at the DVR’s jacks by about 1 Vcc.

6. After changing DiREX-Pro settings and clicking the “Apply” button, the old settings appear.
What is wrong?

You need to change the configuration of temporal internet files of your MS Internet Explorer. Contents should be updated at "each visit to the site".

7. You assert that DiREX-Pro.60 continuously recording capacity for 8 to 14 days. However, my device is full after about 4 days. What is wrong?

To offer the highest video quality, our DVRs use the best video processing technologies available on the market today. Therefore, the better the cameras used (see the Instruction Manual), the better the digital picture produced. Otherwise, by using cameras with a low signal/noise ration or/and recording at night without IR backlighting, additional video noise can be produced that will vastly increase the data rate generated. Therefore, to avoid recording information, do not increase video quality and resolution (i.e. higher than the factory defaults) unless the video stream is noticeably improved. Furthermore, it is recommended to use video noise reduction. Please note that the recording of audio signals also reduces the total recording capacity. It is possible to configure your DVR for sound-controlled video recording without audio recording.
Normally, the total average transfer rate should be about 80-140 KB/sec and the maximum rate at any one time not more than 210 KB/sec.

8. What happens if I connect new USB or RS-232 device to DiREX-Pro?

If you are not a PC professional, we do not recommend you do it!
First of all, it can damage both your device and your DiREX-Pro. Consequently, your guarantee will not cover it. Furthermore, there is unlikely to be any software supported by your device in DiREX-Pro. Only the devices described at accessory web site can be used with DiREX-Pro, and the corresponding software modules/driver exist for this.
